The company publishes and distributes games worldwide for PC, consoles and streaming platforms, including Dead Cells, Streets of Rage 4, Spirit of the North, Cloudpunk, Aragami and Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX. Merge is also developing its own survival game, Smalland, in-house. In 2021, Merge Games was acquired by Sweden-based Zordix AB (publ.)

About the role

We are looking for a talented self-starter to join our growing team. The successful applicant would be responsible for all aspects of the production and publishing of digital and physical games, reporting to the Head of Publishing.

The candidate must have previous video game producer experience, be passionate about indie video games, be able to work to deadlines, have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, have strong initiative and be able to work independently.

This role will be based in our office in Chelford, Cheshire, with some element of home working negotiable.


Key Responsibilities

· Scheduling projects and ensuring changes and concerns are addressed

· Continuous evaluation of the quality of active projects

· Creation, maintenance, and submission of product entries on platform holders’ systems

· Managing external partners

· Working closely with marketing on designated products


Essential skills and experience

· A minimum of one previous Production role held in the video games industry, including full project lifecycle experience

· Current and comprehensive understanding of video game releases and market climate

· Competency in Microsoft Office suite

· Ability to work with direction and under own initiative

· Ability to plan and manage high workloads

· A good eye for detail

· Fluent verbal and written communication skills

· A good grasp of the game development process including console platform considerations


Ideal skills

· Competency in Adobe CC suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign, etc…)

· Understanding of video game retail

· Understanding of video game QA process and reporting tools

· Understanding of code submission compliance on major platforms

· Operational understanding of major platforms, including XBX|S and PS5
